TEMPUS CABRIOLET & TEMPUS SEREIN Joint Winter School (WINT 2016)

In February 2016, from 6th till 12th, the International joint winter school WINT 2016 was organized by representatives of consortium of TEMPUS CABRIOLET and TEMPUS SEREIN. WINT 2016 School took place simultaneously in three cities of Ukraine: Kiev, Kharkiv Chernivtsi, Ternopil.

Participants from Ukraine, Estonia, India and USA gave lectures on presentations on broad topics on cybersecurity and cooperation between Academia and Industry. SmartMeUniversity company presented its experience in development of teaching courses on different IT-related topics.

The school was organized together by National Aerospace University named after N.E. Zhukovsky “KhAI”, Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University and Chernihiv National University of Technology.

School WINT 2016 aggregated several types of events:

Training on user interfaces usability based on user experience;
Training on eye-tracking in cybersecurity;
Safety and security issues (software and hardware) in joint projects in critical domains, cooperation in safety-critical certification Academia and Industry;
S2B, B2S (Science to Business, Business to Science) and advancing of university-industry relationships and entrepreneurial activity;
Student startups;
Technical meetings in frame of TEMPUS CABRIOLET and TEMPUS SEREIN projects, reports of consortia teams on their progress, self-assessment, activities for further improvements.

Participants from TEMPUS SEREIN consortium presented developed teaching programmes for MSc and PhD students and Lifelong learning modules for developed staff in area of cyber security.

WINT 2016 Agenda

Joint Autumn Training School & Battle of IT-Startups (GreenSup)

During September 5-10 in Ukraine, Mykolaiv, TEMPUS CABRIOLET, TEMPUS GREENCO and TEMPUS SEREIN consortia will meet together one more time in order to organise Joint Training School & Battle of IT-Startups (GreenSup).

Organizers:

National Aerospace University “KhAI”, department of computer systems and networks, Prof. Vyacheslav Kharchenko, national coordinator of TEMPUS CABRIOLET, TEMPUS GREENCO and TEMPUS SEREIN and projects;
Petro Mohyla Black Sea State University, department of intelligent information systems, Prof. Yuriy Kondratenko, local coordinator of TEMPUS CABRIOLET project.

Goals:

The dissemination of knowledge and formation of practical skills in the preparation of start-up projects in the field of energy efficient (green) and safe (safe and secure) information systems and technologies;
Carrying out of open Battle of student start-up projects from partner universities (see https://cabriolet.eu.org/about/project-consortium/, http://my-greenco.eu/consortium/, http://serein.net.ua/about/project-consortium/);
Discussion of the results and objectives in the implementation of the TEMPUS-projects (TEMPUS GREENCO, TEMPUS SEREIN and TEMPUS CABRIOLET).

Participants:

Students (undergraduate, postgraduate, PhD), university teachers (lecturers, professors,), managers and engineers of IT companies belonging to projects consortia (see https://cabriolet.eu.org/about/project-consortium/, http://my-greenco.eu/consortium/, http://serein.net.ua/about/project-consortium/) – 13 student teams from 8 Universities in Ukraine;
Representatives of IT companies and universities participating in the School as lecturers, trainers and experts.

Tempus CABRIOLET Summer meeting and workshop CNUT 2015

The next technical meeting in the frame of Tempus CABRIOLET was conducted in Chernihiv National University of Technology during June 24th-25th, 2015.

Key topics of presentation and discussion (all partner’s teams):
– UIC cases progress according to TRA techniques: step by step analysis (Chernivtsi – July 2014; Odessa – September 2014; Chernivtsi – February 2015);
– New UIC cases and their TRA-based assessment;
– Other tasks, activities and outcomes according to project plan, including dissemination activities (papers, websites, media, trainings, etc.);
– Joint Autumn workshop – Start-up Battle: semi-final results, selected students
start-up teams/topics.

Tempus CABRIOLET summer meeting & workshop agenda

Final of the Battle of Students IT startups

On March 20, 2015 the final IT-startup competition “IT-Eureka! Ukraine” was held in Odessa, Ukraine, in the frame of 1st Ukrainian Forum of IT-students’ Innovation. More than 120 students, teachers and representatives of Ukrainian innovative start-ups and IT enterprise took part in the Forum. The number of accepted projects is 444.

This event was a continuation of the battle started from the department of Computer Systems of Networks department of “KhAI” last year in October.

The jury of the competition:

Niklas Malmros (President of Sigma Technology Solutions AB, Vahyo, Sweden)
Vladimir Rogovsky (Director of Business Incubator WannaBiz, Odessa, Ukraine)
Viktor Kauk (associate professor of Department of Software Engineering at Kharkiv National University of Radioelectronics, Kharkiv, Ukraine)
Natalia Potapova (manager of educational programs of Sigma Software, Kharkiv, Ukraine).

A team from the Department of Computer Systems and Networks of “KhAI” with following members: Anton Zhmyrov, Anton Lapko, Ihor Diachenko, Zhanna Shelimanova, Oroma Roseline Ohochukwu with mentors Olga Yanovskaya and Maxim Yanovsky took II place with the project «YouDrop: Architecture and software tools for building the infrastructure of distributed cloud» and received a special prize from companies GeeksLab and FlyElephant.
